St. Luke's is fortunate to have a loving and caring minister directing
its pastoral needs.
Rev. Eleanor Clitheroe-Bell, better known to all as Rev. Ellie, became St. Luke's minister in September 2008 at an important point in the parish's life as it began preparation for its 125th anniversary celebration in 2010.
In the short time Rev. Ellie has been with St. Luke's, many new
initiatives have been established--she has introduced a
combination of traditional and gospel music during church service;
expanded our outreach into the community through youth and children's activities;
encouraged Sunday School to get involved with the Santa Claus Parade, the foster child program, the Angel Tree program; initiated greening of the parish by recycling, using of rain barrels and reducing energy consumption; organized
volunteers for home visits to shut-ins and those in need; encouraged youth group activities, such as, bowling, movies, open to all young people in the community, the list goes on. A local newspaper, West Niagara News, recently reported in an article that a spiritual revival is happening at St Luke's!
Rev. Ellie lives with her spouse Randy and her two children and many pets near Smithville. She is available for visitation and consultation for personal needs of parish members and those in the community who look to her for spiritual guidance.
