Our Minister

Rev Ellie is our minister at St Luke’s. She has a big heart for people and for pastoral care. Prior to and during her time at St Luke’s she has worked in Prison chaplaincy and as a military chaplain. She works with young people, and the federal Cadet organization, and has a special heart for women in all their walks of life.

She writes and speaks on her faith, and has edited two books: Women Rising; and Spiritual Voices. She has authored several documentaries including Prison Ministry; Angeltree; The Way Home; Mike’s Story; and Women and Violence. 

She obtained her M Div at Wycliffe College and was ordained in 2005 in the Diocese of Niagara. She is a director of the Canadian Friends of the Ecole Biblique and Honorary director of Wildlife Preservation Trust. She has been awarded The Queen Elizabeth ll Golden and Diamond Jubilee Medals, and holds an Honorary Doctorate from Trinity Western University.

St. Luke’s looks forward to fulfilling its vision and mission long into the future. To reiterate what the then current minister Rev. C.M. Dumas stated in 1922, and still holds true today, that “We are not a large congregation. We can accomplish much by zeal and Christian Faithfullness.”
